Hen named Henny

There was once a hen named Henny
Who wasn’t worth a penny
She thought of little Tim
“I wouldn’t put it past him”
She slowly thought
“To take me to the sellers shop”
I wake him up!
Mother is glad I go “tup tup”
But Mother one day said
Get Henny out of bed.
You are taking her to sell to Tess,
For 20 cents, not a penny more nor a penny less
Tess said, boy you drive a bargain
But I won’t even give ten
Take it to Bess
For ten cents not a penny more nor less
But Bess said ten
I would not even give you a cheap pen!
Bess said take him home get him to lay eggs of a precious item
He is that breed, out of him you can get things worth more than him
If you do as I say you will live like kings
Not just with a few little things
Yes, yes cried little Tim
For the thought of such riches excited him

Home to his mother he ran
In his haste he stepped on her only fan
Tim, Tim what has gotten into you
You run like the hot, dry, summer loo
Mother our hen can make us wealthy
To which she replied “She is not even healthy”
The person who told you that is as smart
As an unbaked tart.
“No” growled a man, Bess said that and it is true
See it says it here in blue
Then she wasn’t telling lies
Said mother after the first couple of tries
It is indeed pure gold
Just as Bess foretold!
We will be wealthy
With a hen which is not even healthy
So wealthy is what they were
But what would happen when death reaches her
They then decided to ask Henny for
Her successor
Now they figured out what she could do
She was a chicken and a genie too
She had to obey
Though maybe not today
She made gold again
She was in the game
The next day she died for cut up by Tim
Mother made him sorry for no more gold because of him.
Now they were poor
Once more.
