The moon's speech

As I lay on my back and stare at the sky
And in to the stars heart I try to ply
Suddenly I hear trucks and cars
Leaving our earth with many scars
Over the wall I peer
Not a single walker or cycler near
Upward I look through the bars
Useful things aeroplanes are.
But is it really worth it
Destroying earth bit by bit ?
The moon as she cries
With her innocent eyes
Looks forlornly at me
With so pitiful a face, I cannot see.
Is there a solution,
To growing pollution
Are our wants truly so great
Will we change before its too late
Is it not cruel to use earth as a tool
The moon seems to say
With every beam of light, every ray
"The earth is yours as well as mine
Why do you put her on the line?
You haven't gone too far to mend
If a hand you lend
If you teach from birth
The importance of mother earth
Perhaps the next generation will be more cautious still".
