As I lowered
the knife it grew bright
But I wasn’t
frightened in the slight
Out fell
the seeds of strife
As I cut
it with a knife
I ate a
seed just one
I felt
like I weighed a ton
I stumbled
and tripped on a curtain pole
And fell
into a giant hole
I shouted “Help me”
Luckily my sister managed to see
She pulled me out
Luckily at me she did not shout
She said “What did you do?”
I said “The pumpkin is cursed, I
tell you”
She said it was all nonsense
“I’ll prove it or my name isn’t Clarence”
So she sliced a piece of it and
Looked at me real grand
She ate it and fell
I ran around pell-mell
And my brother, Tim,
Well, guess what happened to him
He too fell and he
Said “I cannot see”
Clarence woke and could not hear
This I would not bear
I threw the pumpkin
And said “to get you, I committed
what sin?”
And to my surprise from the
pumpkin appeared
A blurry image, then my sight
cleared
There appeared a young girl
She was holding a small pearl
Give it to brother or sister,
one
And they will appear as bright
as a sun
So I took the pearl and I asked
Why with this I have been
tasked?
So I ran back to the field and
grabbed another
Pumpkin for my sister
When I cracked it open
Out fell seeds, exactly ten
A small child walked out
Very short and quite stout
She said you did not give me
Sufficient time to grow you see
You must eat at least one seed
Then on your misfortune I can
feed
So I said some prayers
And cut through the layers
I put a seed on my tongue
And fell on a rung
I got soil and worms in my pants
And got bitten by red ants
Then my bad luck steak wore off
I merely went and at it scoffed
I broke it and out came
A young girl, the exact same
I got the pearl from her
And gave it to my sister
They both ate them
And said “ahem”
They were better
I sent my grandma in India a
letter
About the day’s crazy events
which
Were into a poem switched
AND NOW YOU READ IT
