A Visit with Nature

The soft green grass that I see
Is beckoning to me
Sprawled on the grass
I hear humming birds pass
And the chattering of the little field mice
Oh, this feels like paradise
I jump into the pool and splash around
It is so shallow my feet touch the ground
Paper planes flying everywhere
Zooming quickly through the air
I doze under a tree
My mind feels so open and free
I could stay like this all my life
No sadness and no strife
I let my mind wander
Over the hills yonder
I dream of climbing one
With the wind in my hair and the warmth of the sun
Down to earth I come back
To pile firewood in a stack
Before the dark sets the sun
Until this day is over and done
Sometime later I light the fire
In my veins not a drop of ire
Watching the fireflies shine their light
In the darkness of the sweet night
I can smell the green of the trees
As I lay some daffodils on my knees
Down fall the moon's tears of joy as she smiles
Her happiness spreads for miles and miles
I stand with my arms spread wide
As I sway with the branches from side to side
I am so happy in this clearing
With nothing to be fearing
Thus is the beauty of this place
With such wide open space.....
