The Twister

Once I was enjoying a peaceful day
Thinking I wouldn't move come what may
Then as if to contradict me
Came a twister spinning like crazy
I don't know how I got up and ran
It'll catch me, no it wont, yes it can
I didn't know what to do
As to why I had no clue
Suddenly a wave of exhaustion over powered me
Like a towering tsunami at sea
I flopped on the ground and didn't care
About me or my family and animals and mare
I just wanted to sleep
And sink into my dreams deep
And sleep I did, for an hour I had run
All in the sweltering Sun
I didn't notice I was swept up by the twister
Or that nearby yelling for me, my parents and my sister
Some think I am dead
And the twister bashed in my head
But now don't you go feeling sorry for me
If I weren't alive would I be telling the story
Yet I ended up real far away
And now I am there to stay.....
